In its 10th anniversary year of publishing, Hyperion Books for Children stole some of the top literary honors from the American Library Association awards for children’s books, and in 2003 the novel Crispin by Avi was awarded the Newbery Medal, the top award for children’s fiction in the country.
A unique collaboration between Miramax Books and Hyperion Books for Children has also proven extremely successful. The partnership began with the publication of Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer in May 2001. An aggressive and innovative launch campaign quickly shot this book, by an unknown author, onto the bestseller lists and sales of the series, now three books, have exceeded 4 million copies in the U.S. We continued the relationship with Miramax Books with the publication of Summerland, the first novel by Pulitzer prize-winning novelist Michael Chabon, and are launching a new fantasy trilogy called the Bartimeus Trilogy this fall by British author Jonathan Stroud.
We hope you find our website a place to discover a truly lively and dynamic list of books for children . . . a place to find a book for every child.
